  • Dolling, 2010, Van Reenen’s (1981: 78) statement that his holotype of burgeoni was ‘previously the holotype of Plinachtus dubius var. distinguendus Schouteden’ implies his belief that the two taxa are synonymic though, in fact, there is no mention of a holotype in Schouteden’s description of var. distinguendus. Van Reenen (1981: 90) referred Schouteden’s Congolese syntypes of var. distinguendus to his new species Plinachtus rex
