  • Dolling, 2010, Lethierry & Severin, 1894 appear to have derived the family-group name Centroscelidae from that of the reduviid genus Centroscelis Jakovlev, 1874; they probably intended to derive it from that of the coreid genus Centrocoris Kolenati, 1845.
• Type genus:  Centrocoris Kolenati, 1845; priority for family-group names based on Centrocoris dates from Centroscelidae Lethierry & Severin, 1894.  First use as Centroscelidae by Lethierry & Severin, 1894.
