Dolling, 2009, The first type species fixation that can be traced for Thasus is gigas, stated by Van Duzee, 1916: 92 to be the 'logotype' (type by subsequent designation); I do not know if Van Duzee actually indicated if the designation was his own, made at that time. There were three species originally included by Stal: heteropus, acutangulus and gigas, so Van Duzee's selection is valid. Clearly, O'Shea was unaware of Van Duzee's action and attempted to fix a different species. Van Duzee's designation has priority.
